What we do with switchboards

Whether your switchboard needs an inspection, a repair, or a full upgrade, Copperline handles the full scope:

  • Switchboard inspections — visual and instrument checks, with full condition reports.

  • Thermal imaging — detect loose connections, overloaded circuits and developing faults before they cause outages.

  • Switchboard repairs — replacing faulty breakers, busbars, RCDs, contactors and isolators.

  • Switchboard upgrades — main switchboards, distribution boards and sub-boards rebuilt to current AS/NZS 3000 standards.

  • Compliance labelling — circuit identification, danger markings and updated as-built schedules.

  • Earth and bonding checks — earth integrity, equipotential bonding and earth fault loop impedance.

  • Pre-purchase / pre-lease inspections — for commercial property managers and incoming tenants.

  • Compliance documentation — full reports formatted to insurer and audit standards.

Why your switchboard deserves attention

It's the single point of failure

Every circuit in your facility passes through the switchboard. A fault here doesn't just affect one area — it can take entire production lines, server rooms or whole buildings offline.

Most switchboard failures are predictable

Loose connections, corroded busbars and degraded breakers don't fail overnight — they fail over months. A thermal imaging scan catches them before they shut you down.

Compliance has tightened

Older switchboards often don't meet current AS/NZS 3000 standards. Compliance audits, insurance assessments and property transactions can all require remediation — getting ahead of it on your terms is cheaper than reacting to a finding.

How a switchboard project runs

1. Inspection and report

On-site inspection with thermal imaging and instrument testing. You receive a written condition report covering current state, identified risks, recommended remediation and compliance status.

2. Scope and quote

We translate findings into clear remediation options — straight repair, partial upgrade, or full replacement — each with a fair quote and a clear scope. You decide what fits your budget and timeline.

3. Delivery and recommissioning

Work is delivered to AS/NZS 3000 and WA Electrical Requirements, with planned shutdown windows where required. Final commissioning includes testing, labelling, as-built documentation and an audit-ready compliance report.
